Another Half Of Me - Chapter 6

Siddha sat down with a glass of rum in the balcony after a long day’s work in office. The deal was signed with Balaram ji and his company would be constructing another business tower in Bangalore.

Tired and exhausted, he gulped down the drink in one shot and poured another one. Feeling a little distraught, he gulped the second down, ate his dinner silently with Rudy and went off to sleep.

Starting his day early had always been Siddha’s habit. Sometime, the routine did get disturbed when he got drunk at night, but that was occasionally.

His second day in Bangalore was all packed with meetings and site surveys for the business tower. When he finally sat down in his car to leave for the hotel, he saw a message from Balaram ji requesting him to come for a party at his place. First he thought of excusing himself, but then he thought an hour would not be bad.

“We are going to a party tonight at Balaram ji’s place,” he told Rudy.

“Party? But, you don’t like parties,” Rudy said smiling trying to hide his surprise.

“I can see you smile, so stop acting up and drive,” Siddha ordered.

It had been more than 10 minutes they had arrived at the party, but Siddha was already regretting his decision. More than a party, it was a photo session of celebrities. He was being dragged in each and every click by people he did not even know. Finally Balaram ji came to his rescue with a glass of wine in his hand. Giving the glass to Siddha, he said smilingly, “Get used to all this now.”

Shaking his head in disapproval, Siddha went outside for fresh breath. Better! What a relief. How can people love to be clicked with strangers? Letting out a relieved sigh, he stepped underneath a shaded area for a smoke. Taking a long puff, he tried his best to release the impatience in him, but somehow it still remained.

Continuing his smoking tryst, he never noticed when it had started to rain. The crackling sound of thunder startled him. Opening his eyes he looked in front and froze.

Locked in with his gaze was a woman standing and staring straight into his eyes. Siddha tried to blink, but he could not. He tried to look away, but just couldn’t take his eyes off.

Her gaze was so mesmerising that it had pierced his soul. He did not have the strength to look away.

Panting hard, she moved slowly towards him. The moment she came closer, he wanted to touch her everywhere. Her rain drenched tendrils teased her cheeks and Siddha wanted to kiss them away.

The cigarette fell from his hand the moment she stepped little more closer. He raised his hand and touched her cheek. An electric current passed through his body making every cell alive. He caressed her cheek with his thumb and she bit her lower lip trying to control a moan.

Suddenly, Siddha had an uncontrollable urge to pull out the lip and lick the teeth marks away.

She moved closer and placed her hand on his heart. The moment it touched, his heart found a new beating rhythm and the heat in his blood increased with each beat. Her hand moved and he felt his control slipping away steadily.

“Roshni,” she said panting heavily.
“Siddha,” he replied with desire.
