Another Half Of Me - Chapter 14

Delhi felt dark and crazy without Roshni. Since he had landed, his time had been taken away in meetings and press conferences. But, still missing her was like breathing to him. He tried calling her every now and then but still that was not enough. He wanted her with him here and now: wanted to feel her arms around his neck, wanted to feel her body next to his when he slept.

But, Siddha knew that was not going to happen for some time. Roshniā€™s workshop had been extended from the initial 7 days to 10. So, he waited patiently trying his best not to fly off to her.

He was laying on his bed wide awake waiting for good morning message to pop up when Sid walked in his room.

ā€œI thought you would still be sleeping,ā€ he said and sat down next to him. Handing him his daily cup of coffee, he looked intently as his brother did not even bother to take his first morning sip. He was still looking at the phone. Not knowing what he was waiting for, Sid rested his head on Siddhaā€™s legs. It had been days since he had slept in his brotherā€™s lap listening to all his stories.

Siddha somehow did not even notice what Sid was doing. His mind was still focused on the mobile screen. Where is she? Itā€™s 7:30 in the morning. Why hasnā€™t she messaged till now? Was she ok?

His vision clouded the moment his mind conjured different images of her not being okay. Not able to take it anymore, he unlocked his phone and was about to dial her number when the message popped up.

ā€œGudmornin..sorry..woke up late..will call you once I reach the workshop..Love youā€¦miss you.ā€

His heart zinged with new found energy. He tried to get up but realised Sid was sleeping on his leg. ā€œSid move,ā€ he commanded. When he did not, Siddha pulled his ears hard. Laughingly Sid moved away with his coffee cup.

ā€œTell Maria Aunty to make some tea for me,ā€ Siddha ordered him rushing inside the bathroom.

Amazed Sid looked at his brotherā€™s retreating back. Since when did he start having tea?

****************

Roshni hurried inside the workshop trying not to trip over. Her hands were full of props and clothes. She settled them in the green room and started to get ready. Taking out the mobile phone, she kept it in front of the mirror.

Oh! Shit, she had forgotten to call Siddha. Damn, he will be boiling mad. Picking up the phone, she dialled his number. No answer. She again dialled the number and this time it said user busy. Okay, if you are egoist so am I. She put the phone on silent mode and shoved it inside her bag.

After 4 hours of rigorous dance practise, she was ready to leave. As one by one the students left, she went inside the green room to change. She flopped in the chair exhausted. 2 more days and then she will be back to Delhi. She couldnā€™t wait to see if Siddha found her. Smiling, she knew in her heart that he would.

Roshni was so exhausted that by the time she reached her guest house, she was half in her sleep. But, she knew that she wonā€™t be able to sleep without a shower, dinner and talking to Siddha. Quickly she finished her bath and then dinner. Looking for her phone, she suddenly remembered shoving it inside her bag.

The moment she looked at her phone, she knew she was in trouble. 35 missed calls, 16 whatsapp and 7 text messages. The last one made her cry.

ā€œI know you are angry with me. I will not ask why and hurt you. But, whatever it is please donā€™t stay away from me. I wonā€™t survive without you.ā€
