Scarred Love - Chapter 55
Rudra
smiled and instantly fetched his mobile again.
“Rudra, no
more calls, please,” Ishani said frowning.
“Just one,
sweetheart,” he said pecking her forehead and moving away.
“Hello
Sir,” she heard Mayank’s voice resonate in the room through the speaker as she
went towards the kitchen.
She wanted
to be alone for some time, not because she was not enjoying all this but
because she wanted some breathing time. Everything that had happened in the
past hour had happened in a flash and she was still reeling from its after
effects.
One week
with him!
Frankly,
she was a little scared but at the same time excited too. Her stomach was
bubbling with pent-up emotions, which she knew she would need to spill soon.
She needed
Annie.
Picking up
her phone from the counter, she messaged her and instantly got a reply. Annie
informed that she is in the hospital right now getting her mother checked up so
she will call in the evening.
“We are leaving
tomorrow morning,” Rudra informed her as he came inside the kitchen.
Ishani just
nodded but he could make out that she was deep in thought.
“What is
it?” he asked her, turning her towards him.
“Nothing! I
just—”
“I know
sweetheart, this is all quite overwhelming. However, work is never going to be
over. So, we got to take out time for us.”
“I am not
worried about that. I am worried about something else,” she said resting her
forehead on his chest.
Tipping her
chin up, he looked into her eyes and asked, “Are you scared of being alone with
me?”
Being alone
with him was not the scary part but staying nights was. Her nightmares can be a
tad bit of bother for him and she didn’t want him to handle her at that time of
the night.
“You don’t
know everything about me, Rudra. There are certain things about me that will
make you shit scared,” she said trying hard not to make him back off.
“Ishani, I
love you. No matter what you are, no matter what happens in your life, I’ll be
there. There is nothing about you that can scare me and even if there is then
we will handle it together.”
“I will not
be of any help at that time. I might just harm you or hurt you badly. You
shouldn’t—”
“Shhhh!
don’t think about all this. If you won’t be yourself then I’ll take care of you
even if you hurt me.”
“But—”
“Shut up!”
he whispered and pulled her closer.
“Rudra,
please hear me. You—”
“You know
you talk too much,” he whispered against her lips.
Sighing,
Ishani gave into the pressure of his mouth and started to feel that pleasurable
heat building inside her.
“I can’t
believe this,” Annie squealed with excitement and Ishani saw her face
brightening with a huge smile.
Sighing,
Ishani sat down on the chair next to her bed and started to fold the remaining
clothes strewn on the bed. Her suitcase was almost full even after rejecting
basically every other piece of clothing in her wardrobe.
After Rudra
had left to get everything organised, she had sat down to pack her things. And,
the moment he had left, she had video called Annie.
“Ishani!”
“I am here.
Annie, I don’t have anything wear, plus, I think this going away for a week is
not a good idea. There’s a load to do at the NGO. And, I also need to train the
staff.”
“Oh hush
now! You are just getting into the stage of cold feet. Now tell me where you
are going.”
“No clue.
He is bloody secretive about it. I have asked him a millions times but he just
keeps ignoring it. And, I am starting to get paranoid about thinking of all
possible what ifs.”
“Come on,
Ish cut the man some slack. He is just trying to surprise you.”
“What if I
don’t get surprised? What if I get shocked?” Ishani asked feeling irritated
with her friend being on his side.
“Now, here
we go again. Just for once, Ishani Raijdas, chuck those what ifs and enjoy the
moment. Tell me what you have packed coz knowing you, you would have taken all
sensible things,” Annie said with a look of know-it-all on her face.
“What do
you mean sensible? What do you think I am going to wear? Obviously, I’ll be
wearing sensible clothes. And, he has asked me to pack some warm ones. But
apart from that, I have taken everything else that I feel suitable.”
“Have you
taken that saree of yours? Annie asked, her eyes shining with mischief.
Ishani
scowled as she looked at her friend and saw her collapsing in a fit of
laughter.
“Annie, you
are impossible.”
“Yeah, that
I am,” Annie said suppressing her laughter.
“Now,
listen to me and take that saree, Ish.”
“No, I am
not. I never wanted that saree, you made me buy it,” Ishani said shaking her
head vehemently.
“ISHANI, do
what I say. Now PACK IT,” Annie commanded, her eyes narrowing and brows getting
knotted meaning she was pissed like hell.
Giving in,
Ishani picked up the saree from the stack and placed it in the bag.
“Good girl,
I—”
“ANNIE!”
Ishani heard her mother’s voice resounding in the room.
“Listen,
babes, I got to go, Ma’s calling. Have fun and call me whenever you can. And,
don’t do anything that I won’t.”
Ishani was
about to disconnect the call when she saw her friend blowing her a kiss.
“And, Ish,
please do use protection. I am too young to become an aunt,” Annie added
laughing.
Ishani was
about to reprimand her but her friend had already disconnected the call.
She sat
down on the bed and looked at the saree lying on top of the stack in her bag.
Don’t know why she always listens to that crackpot; but right now looking at
it, sudden fluttering butterflies erupted in her stomach.
Stretching,
she pulled out a box from the wardrobe and fetched a flat red velvet box. Just
as she opened it, the glittering light sparkled throughout the room and she
smiled happily. But suddenly her smile diminished and a fear gripped her eyes.
What if he
gets scared and leaves?
