Scarred Love - Chapter 102

Virendra Raijdas’s face contorted with shock just as he heard the words but Rudra wanted fear on that face more than anything else.

“And I am not giving you an extension. Deliver the product within the time previously agreed or pay up.”

“You can’t be serious. There’s no way we can pay up that much.”

Rudra smiled hearing the hint of fear in his voice.

“I have one solution for you,” he said stretching his hand towards Viren who handed him another set of papers.

“Sign these and I’ll forget all about the deal.”

Virendra Raijdas took them from him and started to read it but his eyes widened in shock as he registered what was written.

“I am not signing my business over to you.”

“Well, you don’t have any other choice. You were supposed to deliver all the jewellery by today and till now nothing has come in.”

“That’s because the diamond dealers are not willing to sell to us. We are in negotiations with others and pretty soon we will get the whole order done.”

“I am not extending the time,” he said as he sat down on one of the sofas.

“I am not signing.”

“Well, Mr Raijdas you don’t leave me any other choice.”

Rudra’s lips slanted in a devilish smile as he gestured towards Ram who, followed by some security men, came and started to stand behind Rajneesh, his parents Ratan and Bhavna Raijdas and Ambika Raijdas, Ishani’s mother.

Ram came and stood behind Thakur Baldev Raijdas, who was already squirming in his seat uncomfortably.

“You don’t sign those papers and I’ll blast each one of your family’s brain in front of you. You decide,” Rudra said, his eyes not wavering even for a second.

As Virendra Raijdas watched the security men and Ram point their guns on their heads, he stared angrily at Rudra. But suddenly his demeanour changed just as his eyes fell on his father Thakur Baldev Raijdas, who was clutching his left side, face concocted with pain.

“He is having a heart attack. We need to take him to the hospital,” Rajneesh said trying to go to him but stopped as a gun jabbed on the back of his head.

“He is going to die,” Ratan Raijdas said with vehemence.

Rudra looked at Thakur Baldev Raijdas and saw sweat trickling down his forehead.

“I don’t give a fuck.”

Virendra Raijdas gasped as his father fell from the chair and started to shake with pain. His eyes messed with Ram’s, who looked at him sternly and then pointed his gun back at his father.

“He is going to die. At least call a doctor,” he pleaded looking at Rudra.

Something soothing rubbed off inside him as he heard Virendra Raijdas beg. But more than that a deep sense of satisfaction started to bubble inside him as his gaze settled on the man writhing in pain on the floor.

The man solely responsible for destroying everything was finally at his mercy. He looked at him again but with disinterest. Then he flicked his gaze at Manna, who instantly went out through a door and came back with 3 doctors.

But they all halted at the doorway.

“Mr Raijdas, sign the papers and I’ll allow the doctors.”

Virendra Raijdas looked at his father and then raised his eyes to the doctors, who just stood there watching the whole thing. One of the doctors looked at him but when he saw Virendra Raijdas pleading, he moved his eyes away.

“It’s no use, Mr Raijdas. They answer me.”

Ishani looked at Rudra and then at her family. For a second she couldn’t differentiate between him and them. She shook her head as her father’s shoulders slumped with resignation.

Virendra Raijdas flicked the papers one by one and started to sign. Then he handed the papers to his brother, Ratan Raijdas who did the same and handed it over to Virani.

“Hukum, we need one more signature,” he told Rudra examining the papers.

As Rudra looked at him, Viren gestured towards Thakur Baldev Raijdas.

“Get it,” Rudra commanded and looked on as Ram and Viren made Thakur Baldev Raijdas sign.

“Call the doctor now,” Virendra Raijdas said as they finished.

Rudra looked at him and then at Thakur Baldev Raijdas, and smiled. He gestured towards the doctors to enter the room and they rushed inside to help the ailing man. He looked on as they took out some injections and started infusing but the tremors did not decrease.

In fact, they increased more and with every shiver that shook him, the unforgettable shrieks and wails started to reverberate in Rudra’s ears. His inner demons strained against the chains of restraint making it difficult for him to hold on. Gritting his teeth, he slashed them back to darkness and adjusted his position on the couch.

Suddenly Thakur Baldev Raijdas’s body convulsed violently and then went still.

Completely still.

“Baba!” Virendra Raijdas shouted and rushed towards him.

He took his hand in his and started to rub but nothing happened.

One of the doctors placed his fingers on Thakur Baldev Raijdas’s pulse to check and then slumped back.

“We’ve lost him.”

The room erupted with cries and shouts as the words reached everybody’s ears.

Ishani collapsed on the floor and looked on as her family mourned her grandfather’s death. But her attention was on the man sitting calmly on the couch with a disinterested expression on his face. For the first time since she had met him, she couldn’t recognise him.

Rudra got up from the couch and walked towards Thakur Baldev Raijdas and then looked down at him.

“Ram, remove the body,” he said and was about to turn away when a hand on his shoulder stopped him.

“You are a monster,” Ratan Raijdas said looking him in the eye.

“You created me.”

“We will go to the police and tell them that you killed our father,” Virendra Raijdas said getting up.

“Please do Mr Raijdas and give my best regards to them. Tell them they will hear from me soon.”

Virendra Raijdas caught hold of his collar and pulled him towards the corner.

Manna along with the security rushed to Rudra but stopped midway at the rise of his hand.

“We should have burned you alive that night just the way we burned your—”

Before even his whispered rant finished, Rudra twisted him towards the wall and clutched his throat in a vice grip.
