Another Half Of Me - Chapter 47
Without
waiting for anyone, Siddha started running towards the car and jumped in the
driver’s seat the moment he reached it. Starting the engine, he put the car in
full gear and rammed the accelerator just as Rudy slid in the passenger seat.
Rudy
dialled his security team’s number and told one of the men to track all 3
phones. Siddha listened to his monosyllabic replies as he tried to manoeuvre
the car through Delhi’s crazy traffic.
“Bhaiji,
the last location of all phones is Tania Ma’am’s house,” he said in a concerned
tone, disconnecting the call.
Siddha
braked hard when the car reached Tania’s home. Opening the door with a jerk, he
stepped out and ran up the stairs two at a time followed by Rudy.
The door
was wide open and broken pieces of glass along with overturned furniture was
lying everywhere. He called out their names but nobody answered. He rushed
towards the bedroom, but found no one. As he turned, his eyes caught the
smashed mirror. There was blood sticking to one of the pieces still hanging from
the corner.
Siddha’s
closed his eyes as his sub-conscious mind conjured images of disaster. Shaking
his head, he hurried out of the room and banged into Rudy, who was standing
with 3 broken mobiles in his hand.
“They have
been smashed completely,” he said looking fearfully at Siddha.
“Tell James
to reach Roshni’s place in Dilshad Garden,” he said, knowing too well that
Manchanda would want to finish everything off where it all had started.
Siddha
opened the door of Roshni’s house with a bang and rushed inside. Everything was
in its place but there was an eerie silence inside. He and Rudy stopped short
in their tracks as their eyes fell on the splat of blood on the floor.
Siddha
started screaming their names as he and Rudy rushed towards the bedroom. He
froze the moment he stepped inside.
Sid was lying
clutching his bloodied shoulder at one corner while Tania was lying unconscious
with her head bleeding next to him. Rudy rushed to them as Siddha heard
something behind him. Slowly he turned and saw Vishal Manchanda standing with a
knife pined against Roshni’s throat.
“Let her
go,” Siddha in a low menacing tone.
Laughing devilishly,
Vishal just shook his head.
“I’ll not
kill her if you kill yourself. My sister died because of you. I’ll not spare
you this time. You want Roshni alive then kill yourself.”
Saying
this, he tightened his grip on Roshni and pressed the knife closer to her throat,
choking her.
“Give him
the gun,” he said looking at Rudy.
Rudy looked
sideways at Siddha’s clenched face and then advanced towards Vishal but stopped
as he moved the knife a little searing Roshni’s skin.
“Give me
the gun,” Siddha said extending his hand towards the Rudy.
“Bhai, no,”
Sid said from behind.
“Give me
the gun,” Siddha repeated, his eyes not leaving Roshni’s even once.
Roshni
looked at him and knew what he was about to do. She was not afraid of the tip
of the knife searing her skin slowly but she was scared of Siddha killing
himself. Closing her eyes, she summoned all her courage and then looked straight
at him.
“Don’t do
it, please. It’s an empty threat. Please don’t do it,” she pleaded as tears
rolled down her eyes.
“Oh, it’s
not an empty threat,” Vishal said titling Roshni’s face towards him.
“If I had
the guts to throw your child’s body down the gutter 5 years ago then I can
easily cut your body with this knife.”
Roshni’s
body became paralysed as his words started to sink in. Biting her lip, she
looked at Siddha, whose eyes showed the same pain she was feeling inside.
“Enough
talking!” Vishal shouted. “Now, Siddha Singh Rajput, kill yourself or I’ll slit
her throat.”
Looking
into Roshni’s eyes, Siddha pointed the gun at his heart. As she saw him pulling
the trigger, her brain erupted with violence. She lowered her mouth towards
Vishal’s hand holding the knife at her throat and bit hard.
Vishal
cried with agony as he felt her teeth sinking inside his skin. Just as he was
about to slide the knife along her throat, she kicked him hard at the shin and
Vishal staggered back.
James caught
hold of him and was about to take him away when Roshni picked up the knife and
stabbed him on the thigh.
Vishal
screamed just as Rudy dragged Roshni away from him.
Throwing
the gun away, Siddha rushed towards them and looked at Roshni. Even though she
was panting hard, but she was okay. At the corner of his eye, he could see Tania and
Sid standing in the corner, their clothes smeared with blood.
All these
people are hurt just because of one person’s madness. He stared hard at Vishal
who looked like a child caught stealing. Flicking his gaze on Vishal’s thigh,
Siddha gripped the knife and pulled it out a super slow speed.
As Vishal’s
agonised cries rang through the room, Siddha’s mind burned with fury. He looked
at the bloodied knife and then at him. As James pulled Vishal to his feet,
Siddha looked straight into his fear struck eyes.
“Let him
go,” he commanded.
As he
neared him, Vishal backed away towards the corner. When his back hit the wall,
Siddha placed the knife on Vishal’s throat and started to slide it sideways slowly cutting the skin.
“I can kill
you now, but that would be damn easy. You and your father will see death with
open eyes and feels its claws gnawing on your body, but you won’t be able to do
anything.”
He stepped
away from Vishal and James took him away.
Now, it’s
your turn, Harichand Manchanda.
