She is just a Woman
She walks on the pavement quickly
With a prayer on her lips
Her pace increases
As the road darkens in gory silence
Oh! Don’t fear
She has committed no crime
She is just a Woman
Somebody pulls her towards a corner
Trying to feel her heaving breast
Trying to see parts of her
Through the clothes she wears
Shadows stay silent
As she is lain on the pavement
And groped every where
Oh! Don’t fear
She has committed no crime
She is just a Woman
A hand covers her mouth
As if the scream will wake the lord
Her eyes look for help
But sleeping shadows lurk every where
They laugh at her fear
But she does not
Oh! Don’t fear
She has committed no crime
She is just a Woman
She closes her eyes
And sees a vision
Furious clouds form her horizon
As her blood boils with anger
Biting, screaming, kicking
She shoves them one by one
Oh! Don’t fear
She has committed no crime
She is just a Woman
They come back at her
Trying to ram her courage
But she goes on
As her claws and teeth
Draw out filthy blood
The tigress in her, screams and bellows
As her kill lies on the ground
Her blood shot eyes look up
As they try to flee
Shattering the darkening silence
Her voice commands them to stop
Circling them slowly
She tries to gauge their fear
Hitting their faces one by one
She says,
“Oh! Don’t fear
I have committed no crime
I AM JUST A WOMAN”
